Original Pirates of the Caribbean Had a $2M Snack Budget

After the Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales number one debut this weekend, it has been revealed that the budget for snacks alone was $2 million dollars on the first installment of the franchise. The number one weekend for Pirates of the Caribbean 5 was enough to bring Disney's monster franchise up over the $4 billion dollar mark worldwide, even with less than stellar stateside numbers and the effect of the Manchester terrorist attack on the European box office. Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl debuted in 2003 and became the fourth highest grossing movie of that year after critics estimated that it would be an epic, over budget box office bomb. But what did the crew eat? What about the craft services? Fans the world-over have been asking that question for the past 14 years and now we finally have an answer.

Clueless Screening Reunites Alicia Silverstone and Breckin Meyer

Alicia Silverstone and Breckin Meyer held a mini-reunion at a screening for Clueless at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles. The duo showed up unannounced, shocking everybody in attendance on Sunday night. Silverstone and Meyer starred in Clueless, a movie based on Jane Austen's novel Emma, a fact that Silverstone has recently revealed she did not know at the time of filming the movie in 1995. Silverstone portrayed Cher Horowitz, a well intentioned, but somewhat superficial rich girl based off of the title character Emma, while Myer portrayed Travis Birkenstock, a skater who is based on the Emma character Roger Martin.

Alicia Silverstone, now 40-years old, was 17 when the movie was made. She shared some of her stories while introducing the screening of Clueless at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. TMZ reports that Silverstone seemed to be taken aback by the audience's intense reaction to her crashing the screening. The »

Halle Berry Takes on The Blob Remake?

The Blob remake has been in development for a very long time and updates have been few and far between. However, it looks there may have been a somewhat quiet, interesting development on the movie. If a new production listing is accurate, it looks like Oscar-winner Halle Berry has been tapped to star in the long-gestating modern retelling of The Blob.

The news was uncovered by Bloody Disgusting, who discovered that the horror production company Swengroup updated a listing on their site for The Blob. According to the listing, Halle Berry is the sole star attached to be in the movie. There wasn't a lot of context provided in the listing, but her name was there, along with Simon West (Con Air, The Expendables 2), who is apparently still attached to direct. If this turns out to be true, it would be a pretty big deal.

Memorial Day Weekend Box Office Sinks to Lowest Point Since 1999

Disney is celebrating another box office win this weekend with its swashbuckling adventure Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. It is coming away with an easy win, earning $77 million over the four-day holiday weekend. That debut also continues a downward box office trend for the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, with the last installment, 2011's Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, debuting with $90.1 million in this same weekend frame back in 2011. A new report reveals that this weekend as a whole marks the lowest Memorial Day weekend gross since 1999, when the first Star Wars prequel, The Phantom Menace reigned supreme.

Variety reports that the total box office earnings for this weekend add up to $172.3 million, which is the lowest Memorial Day box office since the $142.5 million total from the Memorial Day four-day frame in 1999, when The Phantom Menace, in its second weekend in theaters, easily won »

Jurassic World 2 Logo Unveiled, First Footage Coming Soon

That's a wrap! Sort of. Jurassic World 2 has officially finished filming in London, meaning that the majority of the movie has been shot and is in the can. There is still some shooting to do in Hawaii, which will begin early next month. The cast and crew from the movie recently held a wrap party at the Natural History Museum in London, so we are one step closer to this movie becoming a reality. At the wrap party, the first logo for the movie was revealed and, to ice the cake a bit, one of the stars has promised that the first Jurassic World 2 teaser trailer is coming soon.

Jurassic Outpost reported on the wrap party and also revealed the new logo for Jurassic World 2, which is actually stylized as Jurassic World II. That style of numbering is very reminiscent of what was done for Jurassic Park III, which is interesting. »

Terminator 2 Gets a Grand Theft Auto 5 Remake in Fan-Made Video

A new fan-made video of Terminator 2: Judgment Day done in a GTA V mod shows us what Hollywood would look like if Skynet took over. Terminator 2 was a huge hit when it came out in 1991 and was also a special effects tour de force with the use of groundbreaking CGI for the time. Grand Theft Auto V was released in 2013, becoming one of the fastest selling video games (and products) in history, earning over $8 million in 24 hours. There has yet to be a follow up released for the game and it is still massively popular for the online play and the creativity of fans going inside the game and altering the content in order to make the game operate in a new manner, aka modding the game.

While these mods mixed with animating clips of movies or television shows are nothing new, this version of Terminator 2 is a work of art. »

Hellboy Spin-Off Canceled Because of Reboot

A new Hellboy movie is finally coming to theaters next year, but it is going to be a reboot and not a continuation of the Guillermo Del Toro movies. There are mixed feelings about that, since Del Toro never got to make Hellboy 3. But it turns out that isn't the only movie this newly announced Neil Marshall directed reboot has killed. Writer Peter Briggs has revealed that he had been working on an Abe Sapien spin-off movie since 2010, but the project is officially dead in the water now.

Peter Briggs wrote the original Hellboy movie and, after the news of the reboot broke, he took to his Facebook page to talk about the Abe Sapien movie, which would have been centered on Doug Jones' character. Universal actually had the idea for the movie and contacted him to work on it back in 2010. That turned out to be the beginning »

Star Wars 8 Wasn't Mapped Out When Last Jedi Director Came Aboard

With just over six months left until Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters, fans have been eager for any new details about this Star Wars adventure, no matter how trivial they may be. Over the holiday weekend, director Rian Johnson took to social media to engage with a fan, who was curious about how much of the overall story for this new trilogy had been worked out by Kathleen Kennedy and her LucasFilm team, before he came aboard to both write and direct Star Wars: The Last Jedi. As it turns out, the filmmaker had to essentially start from scratch, since they had nothing worked out ahead of time, aside from what happens in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The director took to Twitter yesterday, after he revealed in his Vanity Fair interview from last week that he was given a great deal of creative freedom in crafting The Last Jedi story. »

Wonder Woman Review: The Dceu Finally Delivers a Great Movie

By request, this review has been removed. It will return at 9pm.

DC fans, your savior has arrived, and she is glorious. Wonder Woman is the best film from Warner Brothers and DC since The Dark Knight Rises. Director Patty Jenkins and screenwriter Allan Heinberg deliver an immersive origin story with unexpected humor and epic action scenes. Israeli actress Gal Gadot comes into her own as a bonafide star. Her initial turn as Wonder Woman in Batman V Superman was underwhelming. I had a deep fear that she would not have the talent or physical presence to successfully portray this character. All doubts are vanquished. Gadot is both ferocious and endearing; innocent, but not naive. Raise your expectations for this film. Wonder Woman is a winner.

Adam Driver Refused to Hang Out with Mark Hamill on Star Wars 8 Set

Adam Driver doesn't have quite the reputation that Jared Leto does for taking things too far on set. But it's been said many times before that he likes to go method. And he certainly showed that side of himself on the set of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The Girls actor turned down an invitation from franchise icon Mark Hamill, on the notion that he didn't want to break character.

Mark Hamill had good intentions in hanging out with Driver. His character Luke Skywalker is uncle to Driver's Kylo Ren. Hamill thought it might be good to get to know each other, so that they would have some kind of on-screen rapport established. Driver felt differently though, and didn't think his Ben Solo should be mixing with the master Jedi, not at this stage in the game anyway.

Mark Hamill only had one minute of screen time in The Force Awakens. »

Two brothers try to pull off a heist during one of the biggest Nascar races of the year in the first trailer for Logan Lucky, which has been set for release on August 18. Channing Tatum and Adam Driver lead an all-star cast in this dark comedy, which marks the return to the director's chair for Steven Soderbergh, his first movie since 2013's Side Effects after he had previously hinted at "retiring" as a feature filmmaker. If the new trailer wasn't enough for you, Bleecker Street has also released the first poster for Logan Lucky as well.

Trying to reverse a family curse, brothers Jimmy (Channing Tatum) and Clyde Logan (Adam Driver) set out to execute an elaborate robbery during the legendary Coca-Cola 600 race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Pirates 5 Wins Memorial Day Weekend Box Office with $77 Million

Heading into the Memorial Day weekend, most box office analysts predicted that Disney's family-friendly adventure Pirates of the Carbbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales would have no trouble taking down the R-rated comedy Baywatch at the box office. The only question was how much would these Pirates beat the lifeguards by, and today we have our answer. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales easily took the top spot with $62.6 million over the three-day weekend and $77 million over the four-day holiday weekend. While it was certainly an easy win, it also proves that this franchise has lost some of its luster.

Box Office Mojo reports that this pirate adventure opened in 4,276 theaters, pulling in a solid $18,018 per-screen average. While a $77 million opening would be huge for most movies, it is actually the second worst debut in Pirates franchise history, just behind the $46.6 million debut of the first movie, »

Arthur Curry and Mera Unite for First Time in Aquaman Set Photo

Ever since Aquaman started production earlier this month, we've gotten a few glimpses from the set, but these images haven't shown off too much. Today we have our first look at both Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and Mera (Amber Heard) together, in full costume. This marks the first time we have seen both Momoa and Heard shooting scenes at the same time.

This photo surfaced on the Amber Heard Italia Twitter page, as filming continues in Australia. Most recently, new Aquaman set videos revealed some of the massive water tanks being used for some of the aquatic scenes in Aquaman, along with a glimpse at Aquaman's hometown of Amnesty Bay. The fishing village set at The Spit, near Palazzo Versace, featured a number of shipping containers that are dressed up as shops such as the Amnesty Bay Fish Co-Op and a shop signed Sunken Galleon, which are being built for the six-month shoot. »
