Valentin is Acapulco's resident playboy womanizer, until a former fling, a young American named Julie, leaves a baby on his doorstep and takes off without a trace. Leaving Mexico for Los Angeles to find the baby's mother, Valentin ends up finding a new home for himself and his newfound daughter, Maggie. An unlikely father figure, Valentin raises Maggie for six years, while also establishing himself as one of Hollywood's top stuntmen to pay the bills, with Maggie acting as his on-set coach. As Valentin raises Maggie, she forces him to grow up too. But their unique and offbeat family is threatened when Maggie's birth mom, Julie, shows up out of the blue after six years after turning her own life around and wants full custody of Maggie, and Valentin realizes he's in danger of losing his daughter - and his best friend. I'm really proud of Eugenio Derbez, this movie has everything!!!! Drama, comedy, suspense. From laughs to tears. This has been the first movie that I go and had to wait for 3 hours because the first show times were SOLD OUT! Plus, I had to stay in line 1 hr before the movie started. Many people, especially white people were really curious and surprised to see the long line just to see a movie, which wasn't just any movie, it was a movie made by someone who after a great success, hasn't forgotten his culture, his fans and his true personality. I love the fact that it doesn't have great special effects, but it's competing against Hollywood movies. Many critics may disagree, but the real Latino community knows Eugenio's efforts. He has won an important place in many Latino countries because he started from the bottom, with struggles, up and downs, and haven't given in and is very loved. Eugenio Derbez is a genius!
