The mystery vet named by Jack, Lars Pierson, is finally found in a remote cabin, where Tom seemed to be heading for. He's on anti-psychotic medication but Carver gets him to remember he sort of advised Tom about traveling as far as Budapest. carver is surprised that his daughter, who rarely reacted by phone, now turns up unannounced, but he can't tel her about his cardiac peril or take time from the case, so she leaves soon.
